CapCut Pro Price History Since 2024, Dated and Sourced

Vector illustration of CapCut Pro Price History showing how the single 2024 Pro plan split into Free, Standard and Pro tiers in 2026

CapCut Pro was listed at $19.99 a month or $179.99 a year on CapCut’s Standard vs Pro page, dated 23 September 2026 and captured 29 September 2026. Newsweek reported those prices appeared in a CapCut article dated 21 January 2026. We found no earlier Pro price on any CapCut page we could open; the US App Store listed unlabeled $7.99 monthly and $89.99 yearly subscriptions on 29 September 2026.

Why “CapCut Pro” isn’t the same plan it was in 2024

Before comparing prices, check which CapCut Pro you mean.

What “Pro” meant before the restructure

CapCut’s own pricing change notice, dated 25 March 2026, says the original Pro plan was fully upgraded and a new Standard plan launched alongside it. The Pro sold today is a different bundle from the Pro sold before 2026.

Several publishers describe Standard as the old Pro under a new name, but CapCut’s notice does not say that. CapCut’s pages also disagree with each other. Its Standard vs Pro comparison, dated 23 September 2026, calls Standard the free version, while the App Store sells Standard as a paid subscription (see the dated table below).

Which history applies to you

If you subscribed before 2026, your starting price decides how much your bill rose, and the percentage breakdown below covers that. If you’re buying now, start with the dated table, then see what each CapCut plan costs today.

2024–2025: the single-Pro era

Before 2026, CapCut’s paid individual plan was called Pro. A CapCut spokesperson also referred to a separate Team tier, as quoted by TechCrunch on 12 July 2024. We could not find the Pro list price for this period on any CapCut page available on 29 September 2026, so that row stays marked as reported.

2026: Standard, Pro and Teams

Newsweek reported on 17 February 2026 that CapCut made no formal announcement of the change. CapCut’s own explanation came in help pages dated 25 March 2026, covered in the next section.

What the App Store lists

Apple’s US listing shows several subscription entries on 29 September 2026. Two of them carry no plan name (see the table), so the listing alone does not prove they were ever Pro prices.

What changed when CapCut split into Standard, Pro and Teams

CapCut explained the restructure in a help-center notice dated 25 March 2026.

What CapCut said, and didn’t say

The notice says the upgraded Pro plan raised AI points from 550 to 1,200 and cloud storage from 100GB to 1TB. It also says previous pricing is no longer available to new subscribers.

A second CapCut page from the same date, Why Has My CapCut Pro Price Increased?, credits expanded editing tools, more creative assets and more cloud storage. Neither page states a price.

What happened to existing subscribers

CapCut’s notice addresses only new subscribers. Newsweek reported on 17 February 2026, citing another outlet, that older annual plans could renew at the new rate from 20 February 2026. We found no CapCut page confirming that as of 29 September 2026.

⚠️ This Costs You: CapCut has not published whether older plans keep their rate (checked 29 September 2026). If you’re on one, check the renewal amount shown for your account before your renewal date, not after.

If your renewal already went up, here’s what to do when your CapCut renewal price rises.

How much CapCut Pro went up depends on what you paid

The increase runs from 100% to 150%, depending on your starting price. No single percentage fits every subscriber.

Starting priceWhere it comes fromPro price (dated)Change (our calculation)
$7.99/monthUnlabeled US App Store entry, captured 29 Sep 2026$19.99/month (CapCut, 23 Sep 2026)+150%
About $77/yearReported by Newsweek, 17 Feb 2026$179.99/year (CapCut, 23 Sep 2026)+134%
$89.99/yearUnlabeled US App Store entry, captured 29 Sep 2026$179.99/year (CapCut, 23 Sep 2026)+100%

Annual plan baselines

Each change is the new price minus the old price, divided by the old price. From the reported $77, that gives ($179.99 − $77) ÷ $77 = 134%. From the $89.99 App Store entry, the result is 100%.

Monthly plan baseline

From the $7.99 App Store entry, ($19.99 − $7.99) ÷ $7.99 = 150%. The App Store names no plan for that entry, so treat it as a candidate starting price, not a confirmed old Pro price.

🔍 Why It Works This Way: Published increase figures disagree because each one starts from a different old price. A 177% figure in circulation implies a starting price near $65 a year, which we found in no CapCut or App Store source as of 29 September 2026. Your own receipt is the only reliable starting point.

CapCut cost changes that didn’t show in the Pro price

Some of CapCut’s price changes came through storage and features, not through the Pro list price.

August 2024: free cloud storage ended

CapCut’s comparison page, dated 23 September 2026, says the 1 GB of free cloud storage was discontinued in August 2024. TechCrunch reported on 12 July 2024 that the change took effect on 5 August, and that the free tier’s collaborator limit fell from five people to two. Storage add-on prices from that report are in the dated table above.

Features moved behind a plan

Newsweek reported on 17 February 2026, citing another outlet, that some 1080p export options moved behind the paywall. CapCut’s own comparison page, dated 23 September 2026, says both Standard and Pro users can export in 8K. The two accounts conflict. For what the free plan exports today, see CapCut’s free plan export limits.

How to check your own CapCut price

Your account shows what you actually pay; the list price may not match it.

Where your rate appears

CapCut’s help page dated 25 March 2026 says your plan’s benefits are listed on the subscription page in your profile, on web, PC or mobile. CapCut’s comparison page, dated 23 September 2026, says prices vary by region, platform, taxes and promotions. Treat the figures here as US references; your checkout screen or receipt shows the amount that applies to you.

Monthly or yearly: the arithmetic

At CapCut’s list prices dated 23 September 2026, twelve monthly payments total $239.88, against $179.99 for a year paid upfront. That is a $59.89 difference (our calculation). How cancelling works is covered in cancelling a CapCut Pro subscription.

✅ Do This: Before your next renewal, open the subscription page in your CapCut profile and compare your plan against the dated table above. For what each tier includes, see what CapCut Pro buys over Standard and Free.

🧾 Not Tested: We did not hold a paid CapCut account for this article, so we could not see a signed-in checkout, a renewal notice, or regional prices. Every figure above comes from a public CapCut page, the US App Store listing, or dated news coverage, each labeled as such.
